The Standing Committee of the General Council of Official Colleges of Physicians of Spain, in the session held on 26 February 2026, agreed to join the international “Thank You, Doctor!” campaign.
This adhesion represents the institutional support of the General Council of Official Colleges of Physicians for this international initiative, which promotes recognition of the role of primary care physicians or family doctors within healthcare systems and society.
Through this decision, the General Council of Official Colleges of Physicians becomes part of the group of medical and social institutions and organizations that have expressed their support for the campaign, promoted by the non-profit medical organization SOMOS Community Care and carried out in collaboration with the Pontifical Academy for Life.
The adhesion of the General Council of Official Colleges of Physicians formalizes its support for the objectives of the initiative, aimed at strengthening recognition of family physicians, promoting prevention-centered medicine, and contributing to the strengthening of the doctor–patient relationship in healthcare systems.
