Elena Herrero Presents the “Thank You Doctor!” Campaign at Diario Salud Meet 2026 and Calls for the Protection of Family Physicians

As part of Diario Salud Meet 2026, held at UNIBE under the theme Learn, Connect, Showcase, Inspire: The patient as the protagonist of the healthcare model, Elena Herrero, General Coordinator of the Thank You Doctor! campaign, officially presented the initiative, highlighting its global reach and commitment to the dignity of the medical profession.

During her speech, Herrero emphasized that the campaign aims to recognize, highlight, and strengthen the role of physicians, positioning gratitude as a core value in transforming healthcare systems and strengthening the relationship with society.

The campaign is built around key strategic pillars, including prevention, the fight against healthcare worker burnout, the integration of artificial intelligence in healthcare, and the promotion of Value-Based Care models focused on patient outcomes and value.

Herrero stressed the urgent need to raise awareness about physicians’ working conditions, pointing to a shared global reality defined by excessive workloads, emotional strain, and the growing complexity of healthcare systems.

She stated clearly that strong and sustainable primary care cannot exist without protecting healthcare professionals, underscoring the need for structural measures to ensure their well-being, recognition, and professional development.

The Thank You Doctor! campaign is presented as an open, inclusive, and global initiative, aimed at fostering a collective movement toward a more human, sustainable, and people-centered healthcare model.

As part of this effort, the campaign invites the public to sign its official declaration, available at Thank You Doctor Declaration, to promote a culture of gratitude and support for healthcare professionals.

Its presentation at Diario Salud Meet 2026 reinforces the event’s role as a key platform for innovation, reflection, and collaboration, placing the patient at the center and recognizing the essential role of healthcare professionals.
